KZN Beach Clean Up calls on eco warriors to pitch in
ENVIRONMENTAL organisation, KZN Beach Clean Up is calling on the community to pitch in to help pick up litter at their next organised clean up on Saturday, 17 April at the Beachwood Mangroves.
While the clean up runs from 8am until 11am, Presha Soogrim of KZN Beach Clean Up said community members who volunteer for as little as 30 minutes would do a world of good.
“Volunteers don’t need to stay for the whole time, even just 30 minutes would help. The areas are so badly polluted, you could easily fill two bags in 30 minutes,” she said.
“Please bring a pair of gloves and wear old shoes because there is a bit of a muddy crossing to go through to get to the beach. All Covid protocols will be in place and masks must be worn. Sunblock and hats are always advised,” she said.
