SPCA pop-up shop moves back to La Lucia Mall
THE Durban & Coast SPCA has moved its pop-up shop back to La Lucia Mall for a limited time.
For the next three months the shop will be situated on the lower level of the mall (close to Pick n Pay), said marketing manager for the association, Tanya Fleischer.
The pop-up store has moved three times in the last few months and Fleischer said the store has been well received by residents and shoppers at the mall.
“We have raised almost half a million Rand in our brief stays at La Lucia Mall and at the Sunningdale Centre and we now hope the community will come and support us after moving back to La Lucia for a limited time.”
“We are grateful to the management of La Lucia Mall who have allowed us to utilise this space. To find our new pop up shop, walk towards Pick N Pay, turn right and walk past the ATMs before taking the escalator down to the lower level which is where we are situated.
“We have a number of items up for sale at the shop including antiques, jewellery, books and clothes that we don’t sell at our charity shops. We really hope to see more residents come out and support us. So far the reception from shoppers and residents has been great and the shop has been well received. Our 2021 calendars are also on sale for R130 at the shop and feature the competition winners from our ‘Paws for the Camera’ campaign,” she explained.
The shop is open from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, Saturday 8.30am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sunday.
Fleischer added the SPCA were unable to accept donations at the new spot due to space constraints.
“We urge residents to drop donations at the SPCA in Springfield Park or call us to collect on 031 579 6534,” she said.
