Buy a Christmas tree for a good cause in Durban North

A SEA of Christmas trees announce the fast approaching festive season at a pop up shop at the Northwood Crusaders Sports Club in Durban North from Monday until Sunday from 8am until 6pm until 22 December.

The trees are on sale as part of a charitable project organised by Umhlanga Round Table no 155 which is a non-profit organisation that falls under the Round Table Southern Africa.

All proceeds from the tree sales go toward charity. Adrian Pretorius has been involved with the Round Table for eight years.

The Magic Bean foundation has also set up a stand at the pop up Christmas tree shop.

The foundation works to empower women from needy communities by teaching them to make crochet items from recycled plastic, said Loraine Evans of the foundation.

“Round Table allow us to sell our products here, which is great. We have beach bags, pot plant holders, laundry baskets which all make great Christmas gifts or teacher’s gifts. We also have our range of products that we sell to raise money for what we do, including finger puppets, hand puppets and all sorts of imaginary play items,” she said.
